it's been 44 days since my last post...i decided to stimulate the economy by flying home for xmas and as of late, flew to jackson hole wyoming for a hockey tournament. on top of flying, i've been buying a bunch of crap including a car. now, i am needing to sell a bunch of stuff....get new crap, get rid of the old crap.... anyone looking for the following items? (they are for sale): a motorcycle yamaha sv650, a pink mountain bike yeti a.r.c size small, scott road shoes (brand new) size 39, a magtag washer, an estate (whirpool) dryer. a couple sets of road wheels, one used, one brand new. i also have a few verizon cell phones to sell, and a couple cameras. ....seems like i should have a garage sale. one problem....no garage.

the jackson hole tournament turned out to be a real good time, mainly because of the team that came along! the night life wasn't all that it was "cracked up to be"...lol ....i mean, jess your eyes in this picture are only open a crack!

and my cat found it out and about last night...well, actually this morning at 3am. the reason i know this is because cats' bell was a ting-ting-tingling a bunch, which woke me from a dead sleep.

i suspect the mouse was probably eating "cat's" food. cat heard the mouse eating it and approached her. mouse, scared out of her wits, ran out the nearest door which happened to be my bedroom door. now, cat and mouse are in my bedroom with me. i turn on the light to see what my crazy cat is up to. there she is staring deeply at my canvas laundry hamper thing. hmm. i wonder what's going on? so like a scary movie, i get up out of my warm bed, walk over to move the laundry thing for cat to get a closer look, and out shoot's "what's happening"! droggy from the deep sleep i had been in moments before, i managed to let out a nice noise/yelp and jump on to my bed in one swift leap.

what is it with mice?! why do they suddenly b-line it right at me?! seriously. this has happened to me before, but the mouse actually came shooting out a vacuum cleaner i had just plugged in that had been left on. both times scared it the bajeeezus out of me even though i am soooo not afraid of mice.

needless to say, the couch isn't as comfortable as my bed. and now that i have returned from work, my cat doesn't seem to render any info on the whereabouts of the mouse, presumingly, in my house.

So, i was "Tagged" on November 29th, 07 by bfisk. i was suppose to write 5 things about myself that most do not know. Well, that started the competition! beth wrote 10 things, then kenny wrote 10 things you might not want to know about her. so as you can see it has now become a big competition. However, I decided to wait exactly 2 months before replying so that you all might forget what they wrote and I could win....not certain that is possible but here goes!

(Well...it looks like I am replying 1 year and a day later....so much for timely) I guess I am suppose to tag more people...forgot how many, but you probably know what to do if you are getting this!

Most of my scars on my body are from riding bicycles, or rather, falling off bicycles. i have 3 other scars not from bikes: one on my back from a dog; one on my head from a car accident; and one on my tummy from my appendix being removed in mexico (by far the largest of scars). this last scar was actually reopened to repair a hernia that had form sometime later(i think it was from jumping on a trampoline).
I have visited Euro-Disney located outside of Paris, France. the only thing i remember from that particular park was the song "all she wants is another baby"....by real mccoy. i remember this because while standing in line the kids ahead of us kept singing it over, and over, and over, and over.
I am a product of the 80's. break dancing and all.
I have actually had a 29 hand in Cribbage! (biggest hand...kind of like a hole in one in golf)
I eye-witnessed the Russian spaceship entering our atmosphere last winter.
I have been a centerfold of a calendar. (a.k.a miss july)
I have swam with dolphins
I attended the 1994 olympics in Lillehammar Norway as a spectator, i loved it!
I played hockey in the Pepsi Center with real refs!

i was so happy to hear my fire alarm chirping the other night...(more like 12:30a.m.) because that meant i had to get out of my warm bed and go in search of one of those 9volt batteries in the middle of the night. you might think the task to be easy and quite mindless but did i mention that my power went off at 12:30a.m also. now this mindless task became a good 3o minute ordeal! why 30 minutes?! because i am too embarrass to say that i was up for at least 45 minutes wondering around and putting up and taking down that damn fire alarm!

so, i found my flashlight just inside on top of my junk drawer. thank goodness. this enabled me to search for the 9volt batteries, but before finding the batteries i managed to find the mold of my teeth (i had been looking for this for a month so that i could get another mouth guard made)! thrilled as i was, the beeping continued. shortly after, one 9v battery was found. sweeeeet! i crawled up one of my bar stool's, replaced the battery and returned to bed. beep....beep....back out of bed and up the bar stool flashlight in hand....what the heck?! took out the battery, flashed the light on it, fiddled with it, put it back in, climbed down and back to bed. beep....beep....what the %?!#@!...."this time the suckers coming down!" out of bed, up the stool, unhooked the damn thing, down the stool, battery out, beeping thing on counter, back in bed. beep.....beep......what the!!! seriously! how can the f'n thing chirp without batteries are power?!! out of bed, over to the counter, flashlight in hand reading the super small print...."radio active" (guess i can't throw the damn thing out). i swear i went back up to re-hook that sucker back to the ceiling one last time before it made the exit to my deck! i swear i did...

moral of the story change your 9 volt fire alarm batteries before they change you.

the clash had a hockey game saturday night at the world arena in the springs. we had fun, but we didn't win. i stayed over night at sparky's place and we too, had a fun filled day! starting out with a fresh cup of joe, a grueling bike ride, a hilltopper snack of pink lemonade & popcorn, lunch, then finally shopping: ) we both bought shoes and hats...an excellent way to end a great day! thanks sparky's.

i watched a lot of rugby this weekend. 3 matches to be exact! this first photo is from glendale's 2nd game of the day...let's call it "ass-whoopin' austin" 35-8. way to go lady raptors! austin insisted on a neutral site so instead of playing at glendale, the ladies played at dick's sports complex.
here are some of my fav's lining up after kickin' it to kansas, 73-3 @ the glendale pitch, the first game of the day.
i am just going to comment on one thing: yeah, scary lookin' person on the left in white (re-named ursala)...not certain your red hair band is the way to go...
where to pee in the middle of the game?....good thing for big ol' posts.

i was in the supermarket tonight. went to pick out cards before picking out the ice cream(smart). 3 cards deep placed gingerly in the baby seat of my cart...one thing lead to another, i was 2 steps away looking at school folders when all of the sudden my cart took off in the hands of one of those "funny people"...i looked and looked....nothin'. couldn't recover it.

the good thing is i wasn't able to continue shopping and buying a bunch of food i didn't need. the bad thing is i could only replace 2 of the 3 cards...the 3rd one was the only one left:(

so i had to sit out and watch rugby last night due to my sleeping back injury. i sat at the sideline and drank beer. in the last 7 minutes of play i watched lh get a concussion, tess get a elbow to her femur, and root break another finger. although, the team was dropping like flies, we still managed to win with julieanne making an exceeding amount of try's and root getting pissed at the ref and taking it out on the other team. serious fun times.

have any of you ever called 3-1-1 here in denver? i think it is the denvergov hotline....anyhow, i called the number to replace my stolen purple recycling bin today. what a treat. little did i know i would get an ear full...first off, i think the lady was attempting to get on the computer to look up my info....she said " oh dear,...this is slower than molasses in january"....that started the smiling and giggling to myself thinking that i need to be recording this! it didn't end there though... i was having a tough time hearing on my cell phone exactly what she was saying or referring to but it sure made me laugh when i realized she had started talkin' purple aliens, stealing the purple bins for fuel for their spaceships. again, it didn't end there....she continued on to tell me that "he" (she was referring to a guy calling in...which i figured out later) wanted to talk to the mayor because he wanted national security (saaaah-curity!) to be contacted about the disappearing purple bins. she went on to tell me that they have to transfer anyone and everyone who makes the request to talk to the mayor (good to know). so she transfer the guy to nina...(yeah, who's nina? the secretary of course). nina answered the phone with an accent "cweaning wadeee"...."dis es de cweaning wadeeee"....and after 5 minutes of yankin' this guys chains the two ladies, nina and "the talker" started laughing thinking the guy had hung up...he hadn't. i am not certain how they ended up getting rid of the guy...but i think it may have been "a complicated order....saaaa-cur-ity!"

it was funny, and i couldn't help think that i had walked into a real live blog situation....well, not until i realized that i had just watered all of my plants in the front and side of my house in my bike uniform....yeah, that would include the helmet.

last night we beat both the black ice and the glendale girls on the pitch. we had a lot of fun! personally i felt like my heart was going to explode from running so hard in the first game...well, it could have something to do with drinking a half a can of liquid crack (monster energy drink) before the game....not so certain i will do that again... but regardless i did get 2 try's on it! sweet!

Riding fun

my friend/vc teammate lisa and i made a plan to ride apex today at 2pm. you might think that 95 degrees would make it a little too hot for a walk let alone a ride, but apparently we did not care and there were no people on the trail(sweet). lisa caught a photo of my first attempt at this log in the enchanted forest that i have been eyeing the past 3 rides. i did it. want to do it again. thanks for the ride lisa! that was fun!

how cool is it when you are riding a trail in the middle of the forest and all of the sudden huge animals are running all around you?!(well, as long as the animals are not mountain loins or grizzly bears...)yeah. lisa and i startled, what we thought, a herd of about 12-15 elk. we stopped watched for a few and then carried on toward the finish of our ride. as we turned the corner and started descending something caught my eye. i knew exactly what it was so i stopped. as lisa wondered why we were stopping i simply pointed up to the herd of elk...i would say like 50 elk were grazing with their young frolicking amongst the elders. it was soooooo cool!

The Weikle women rocked the house!

today was a big day in minneapolis at the lifetime fitness triathlon! the "weikle women" (team name) took home the gold (which was actually just a photo opt on the podium) but never the less we(my niece's corrie & cianna, and i won the women's relay competition on the olympic course. niece corrie swam like a fish and was out of the water 2nd. the chip was transfered to me (even though i kept telling them "i have the chip"...really.) i was then off on my classic red italian de rosa about 3 minutes behind the leading team...but not for long...i raced my booty off to get us 6 or 7 minutes ahead, only being passed by one team discovery full-aero guy near the middle of my ride. last, niece cianna took it to the house with a sweet 10k run of about 43mins.(after not training of course:). so i am real tired...flew home to denver....falling asleep right nooooooooow....

so yesterday i went on a journey of a bike ride out to my brother corey's house in chanhassen from the city. sure enough smack dab in the middle of the ride it rained cat's and dogs! the last thing my brother texted me (before finding a real safe place to wait out the straightline winds) was "take cover". i managed to take this video of the storm subsiding while waiting it out under this lightening-rod-baptist-revival tent/canopy...not so great of a choice...but i did live to tell!

...you find that minnie-sooo-dah has a lot of variety in their appetizers. for example here is a menu from a place we ate at on lake mille lacs: #1 (that you cannot see) our own battered deep fried cheese curds. #2 on the menu: deep fried green beens, served with ranch dressing....really?!

check out the last item on the app menu section.....deep fried pickles also served with ranch dressing. seriously?!...those chedderheads over in wisconsin must have had a real big influence on this minnie-soo-den menu don't yah tink?!

they sure are creative here in the northland. last night around the campfire i heard of 3 new recipes that i thought i would share with you all:

1. taco in a bag- add a small bag of salsa flavored doritos, or fritos in a freezer baggie. crunch into smaller bits.

-add ground beef, lettuce, sour cream, tomato bits, cheese, taco sauce

-seal bag, and then shake vigorously

-taco in a bag

2. omelette in a bag- add 2 eggs in a freezer bag.

-seal bag

-place in boiling water for 13 minutes

-add all ur special fixins'

3. chili in a bag

-same concept

....seriously.

(insert accent)so on my first night here in minn-ah-soda it started out with a redneck party pack of fireworks, minn-ah-soda beer, my brother demoing how my dad mixes his drinks
